The work is the first step to eventually programming the microbe to 'read' the man-made base-pair and make new proteins.

Then quickly followed by human-designed synthetic genomes.   

Mankind is diddling with the basic building blocks of life.  So what can go wrong?

Scientists Prove God's Existence?

As early as 1941 Kurt Gödel developed his ontological proof for God's existence.  Gödel himself was not religious.

Gödel based his math on Anselm of Canterbury ontological argument: "God, by definition, is that for which no greater can be conceived. God exists in the understanding. If God exists in the understanding, we could imagine Him to be greater by existing in reality. Therefore, God must exist."

Curious to test the math on a supercomputer, Christoph Benzmüller of Berlin's Free University and Bruno Woltzenlogel Paleo of the Technical University in Vienna, ran the numbers and proved the theorem.

Benzmüller adds, “I didn’t know it would create such a huge public interest but [Gödel’s ontological proof]…It’s a very small, crisp thing, because we are just dealing with six axioms in a little theorem."

California's Tax War With Trump

Ex Assembly Speaker Willie Brown, Jr. warns: “California could very well become an organized non-payer. … They could recommend non-compliance with the federal tax code.”

Why?   Trump will punish forty California sanctuary cities for harboring fugitive illegals by withholding federal funds.  In fact, California will lose more than a third of a trillion bucks.  And then add IRS tax fraud and penalties to boot.

So you'd better come up with something else Mr. Brown.

Cancer Linked HPV In 25% Of Males

Genital infection estimates from a 2013-14 national health survey were published Thursday in the journal JAMA Oncology.

Almost all of US males have had a genital infection at some point.  And almost half are infected now.

But an alarming 1 in 4 men are walking around with a strain of HPV (human papallomavirus) that leads to cancer.

Yes there is a vaccine to prevent HPV but it has to be taken as a teen.   To late for those infected already.  But apparently teens today are not taking the threat seriously as vaccination rates are low.

Rotund Woman Towed By Truck

Pastor Lamond Rushing saw morbidly obese Becky Kittrell being dragged behind a Toyota Tundra and couldn't resist rushing to record and post the tow on his Facebook page.

Rushing is heard narrating: 'Only in Kansas City. Only in Kansas City. Do y'all see this right here?'

Becky ran out of juice in seven degree temps and flagged down the Toyota for help.  You see Becky is too wide to walk and too massive to mount the back of the truck.

Rushing was copiously clobbered in the commentary section of his Facebook page.   But was he wrong?   Or should Becky get her batteries fixed?

70-Year-Old Prostitute Arrested

When most folks are long retired schlepping around the homestead in housecoat and slippers and demanding senior discounts at fast food joints, Sun Hee Gribat was turning tacky tawdry tricks at Jax Message Therapy in Jacksonville, Fla.

Sun Hee's hour-long massage cost $70 but the septuagenarian added a "sex act" service not listed on the menu for an extra $60, say police.

Sun Hee was charged with prostitution and practicing massage therapy without a license.  And picking up AARP awards for stamina and staying power.

But inquiring minds must know.  What kind of demand is there for sixty dollar sex with a seventy-year-old?   Don't try to answer that...

California's 42% Gas Tax Hike

California is 'owned' by the Democrat Party.   Tax collections in the dying state have gone up 50% across the board in nine years.

Yet the state has more debt than any other - about $80 billion bucks in unfunded pensions.  And the current budget is in the red by $1.6 billion.

The solution?  Despite sporting the highest personal tax rates of 13.3% and the 6th highest corporate tax rate of 8.8% Jerry 'Moonbeam' Brown wants to spike gas taxes 42% and annual vehicle registration fees 141%!

Seems the California Public Employees Pension Fund (CALPERS) is going broke and Brown needs the money to prop-up over-paid civil servants.

California folks, need we say more?  How about:  High-Speed Rail Now Over Budget, Behind Schedule.

12-Year-Old Pulls Gun On Classmate

The NYPD reports a 12-year-old male followed a female classmate to a Harlem McDonalds and demanded she hand over her chicken nuggets.  She refused.

The boy then followed the girl into the 103rd St. No. 6-train station, pointed a gun at her head and demanded the chicken again.

The girl smacked the gun away and boarded the train unharmed.

The unfazed female reported the incident to school officials and the pre-teen perp was arrested.  Their race was not revealed but we can guess, right folks?

Wow.

Gun Store Shootout

The masked, armed pair burst into the store with guns pointed at store personnel.  The perp closest to the counter clerk yelled: 'Get down on the floor, get down on the floor or I’ll kill you.'

And that's when store owner Jimmy Groover turned from his workbench and opened fire putting three into the center of chest of the screamer.  Groover continue to fire at the other moron as he ran from the store and is still at large.

Police questioned Groover and reviewed the video and released him.

Nature has a way of culling out the weak and stupid and this video show what happens when you try to rob a gun store with a gun and the owner is a trained, crack shot.

Trolls Cite Trump Threats

Stanford's Dept of Psychiatry Professor Keith Humphreys says,  “Muslims, Jews, Latinos, African-Americans and women and victims of sexual assault” are now, thanks to Trump’s victory and the “hateful rhetoric” attributed thereto, “uncertain whom they can trust.”

And Jocelyn Wiener of Kaiser Health News in Oakland paraphrases Humphreys, “...children and adolescents who are undocumented immigrants...are experiencing a surge in stress, depression and anxiety...the same is true for young...Muslim and transgender youth [thanks to Trump]”

Wiener and Humphreys are both embedded in the heart of leftist California and both are awash in groundless trolling. 

Trump will be around for eight long, gloomy, bleak, burning, harrowing, excruciating, unbearable, insufferable, punishing, grueling, miserable, mortifying, tormenting years and that's a LOT of "depression and anxiety" for these goons to endure.  Good.

California Legalizes Child Prostitution

California legislature member Travis Allen says, “...on Jan. 1, prostitution by minors [became] legal in California...SB 1322 bars law enforcement from arresting sex workers who are under the age of 18 for soliciting or engaging in prostitution, or loitering with the intent to do so...”

Huh?

Despite the spin and sptting by the Sacramento Bee and the Democrats in the legislature, the fact remains...pimps who press kids into prostitution and the kids victimized by the heinous enterprise are no longer targets of arrest and prosecution in California.

Once again, decrepit Democrats are directly to blame since they have a super-majority and the governors office and wrote the law.

Landlord's Dollar Flushes

Tenants in a Melbourne, Australia apartment building are bitching about a buck a flush.

Seems the landlord installed coin operated toilets in their flats.

'I understand in our laundry having to pay for the communal washing machine,' one renter whined. 'But I pay the water bill that goes into my apartment. He [the landlord] said it was a government incentive to save water. But then why does he [the landlord] get to collect the money?'

Sounds like a nifty new way liberals can pry loose change from pissed off people piling up poop profusely.

Kid Killers March On DC

Radical ghoul Gloria Steinem, perfidious Planned Parenthood and hapless Harry Belefonte are joining 100,000 other left-wing kid killers in what they call the "Women's March On Washington."

The debacle is to take place in DC one day after Trump's inauguration.

These animals claim to have been "marginalized" by Trump during the campaign and are threatening to block any move to protect unborn kids.

So be it.

But these losers lost.   And now for the first time since Roe .v. Wade we have a chance to undo the barbarism that is abortion and start acting civilized again.

Lemonade Stand Robbery

What animal robs nine-year-old kids selling lemonade on a street corner?

“I did pretty well. I made $13.41 and then I got robbed by two people. They took all the money and then they took my iPod,” Lucas told the media.

The cops arrested two black teens.  A 16-year-old female was charged with misdemeanor battery and petty theft.  And 19-year-old Deante Small was slapped with felony robbery by sudden snatching.

The cops didn't find the cash or the iPod.  But not to worry, there's still time for Obama to pardon the perps.  Deante prolly looks like the son Obama never had, right?

Undaunted, the kids are back selling lemonade, as Lucas says, “to make some money.”
