Maryland Governor Invokes Rain Tax

Maryland is an east coast Dem controlled turd-hole.  So it's no surprise Dem Governor Martin O’Malley has begun to tax the amount of rain falling on property owners in Maryland.

The law was passed last year by the Maryland legislature. And Martin is hot to fire this thing up. Taxpayers in Maryland will be forking out over $300 million bucks a year extra once the rain starts to fall.  And that doesn't count hurricane moisture.

The law "requires individuals, businesses, and even charitable organizations and houses of worship to pay a tax based on the amount of rain that falls on their property and the 'impervious surfaces' on their land," notes a local taxpayer watchdog group.

A letter sent to taxpayers includes the threat, ' the tax will be computed through satellite surveillance of your property.'

O'Malley is a tax and spend goon just like the ones found in CA, NY and IL. He failed to jump tax rates for all taxpayers back in 2007 but did get the top rates hiked costing the state $1.7 billion in revenues.

Bad enough it's an insidious tax hike in a tax infested state. But taxing rain? Does the Angle need to say where this is going?
