And just because generations that came before sacrificed, struggled, and found their way doesn't mean this generation will do the same.
Thomas Jefferson understood as well as any man in his day and since what the 'experiment' required. "I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them." Jefferson is warning those that have labored to turn a nation of self-reliant, self-determined, inventive, hard working people into whining dependency gnomes. Jefferson was right, and Obama is wrong.
United we stand, divided we fall. Jefferson adroitly reminds us that "All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent."
Make no mistake, this may well be the last time the USA celebrates a 4th of July still able to choose a destiny of freedom and self-reliance. The election on November 6, 2012 is when people of good conscience must act. Will the founders wisdom again be followed, or will the nation founder on the proven policy failures of Obama.
