Scientists Discover Obesity 'Master Switch'

Scientists found the gene linked to obesity, diabetes and cholesterol.  It's so key they're calling it the 'master switch.'

A billion people, or one in 5 adults worldwide, are obese.

One-third of U.S. adults (33.8%) are obese. Approximately 17% (or 12.5 million) of children and adolescents aged 2—19 years are obese.

Obesity-related diseases already account for nearly 10% of all US medical spending -- an estimated $147 billion a year.

The obesity epidemic hits Hispanics and blacks hardest in the USA. Fully 75% of black females are obese.

Should the government be restricting food intake for the rotund?  Well, isn't that how Michelle Obama would solve it?
