New Jersey and just four other states spend twice as much per grade-school student as any other state.Yet the Paterson New Jersey school district just revealed a miserable 19 out of 600 students got high enough SAT scores to qualify for college.
School officials blame racial bias in the testing, of course. And now the administrators say they will not use SATs to gauge student success.

Not to worry. California ranks dead last at 50th. Flailing New Jersey still has room to fall.
