Mr. Ding-A-Ling Versus Sno Kone Joe

The infamous Golversville, NY turf war between two mobile cold snack vendors has ended with the driver of Mr. Ding-A-Ling's truck taken down in a DUI arrest.

Phil Hollister (aka Mr. Ding-A-Ling), 53 nearly crashed his 2-ton ice cream truck into a Fulton County Sheriff's deputy just after midnight Saturday with a blood-alcohol level of .15%, twice the legal limit.

Hollister won five-minutes of fame last April when he accused the guy that drove the Sno Kone Joe truck of harassing him. Charges were filed against Sno Kone Joe's driver and the company was stripped of city permits.

Mr Ding-A-Ling's owner quickly fired Hollister and took back the Ding-A-Ling truck.

Phil had only been driving the truck for five-months but what a wild ride it was. Mr. Ding-A-Ling is back on the streets with a new driver but Phil's days in the ice cream war in Golversville have melted away.  And the city is left wondering what kind of screening process the ice cream companies are using to find drivers.
