Monkey Gets Cloned Pig Liver

So what's the big deal surgeons in China transplanted a liver from a cloned pig into a monkey anyway?

Most know undergoing an organ transplant is not the hard part, the hard part is obtaining an organ to transplant.  Most die wasting away waiting on long lists for lungs, livers, hearts, and kidneys.

So medical science wants to 'make' organs instead of just harvesting them from people who no longer need them - you know, dead people.

How?   Genetic modification (GM) and cloning of pigs are being used to make human-tailored organs ready for transplant.  The trick is to alter the DNA of the organs to reduce rejection risks.

The Xijing Hospital in Xi'an, China, made a successful liver transplant from a cloned pig to a Tibetan macaque on May 28. All prior efforts have failed not just in China but in a dozen other countries including the USA and Britain.  So far the monkey lives!

Next stop? Replace Nancy Pelosi's addled, grotesque, aberrant and dysfunctional knot of noggin neurons with a suitable pig-grown conservative brain.  Nah, the brain will reject her anyway..
