Hotel Refuses Reservation For Down's Kids

Hotel CaboGata Plaza Suites in Almeria, Spain refused a reservation from Down Espana, a group that protects and cares for kids stricken with Down's Syndrome.  The reason?

An unnamed hotel employee told the group, "these kinds of people might annoy other guests."  Oooooops.

Down Espana took quick action filing a complaint with the public prosecutor.  A short time later, and we are talking about a very very short time later, like about ten seconds after the public prosecutor contacted the hotel - a slightly different booking was made.

Again, an unnamed employee, this time an upper management unnamed employee said, what we have here is "a misunderstanding. In 35 years of business we have never refused access to guests with Down syndrome who have been, are, and always will be very welcome."  Oh, now they are 'very welcome.'  How welcome?  Like free five-nights stay all expenses meals included kind-of-welcome?

"We haven't gone public with this incident to victimize anyone but to educate the public," said Agustin Matia, head of Down Espana.

A shame we can't get this kind of course reversal from the Obama regime over the German immigrant family just kicked out for homeschooling their kids.
