Three New Jersey senators stayed after a closed-door hearing on gun control to have a little chat. Unknown to them the mics were hot.
Heard on tape are Sen. Loretta Weinberg, Sen. Sandy Cunningham and Sen. Linda Greenstein, 'We needed a bill that was going to confiscate, confiscate, confiscate,' one of the three said firmly.
Later questioned about the comments, Weinberg, left, said she had no idea who said confiscate. Weinberg was clearly heard to say, “They want to keep the guns out of the hands of the bad guys, but they don’t have any regulations to do it."
Then Cunningham's turn: 'They don’t care about the bad guys. All they want to do is have their little guns and do whatever they want with them.' Finally Greenstein's cynicism squirts out: 'That’s the line they’ve developed.'
Scott Bach of the Association of New Jersey Rifle and Pistol Clubs said the comments are indicative of an extremist mentality. Weinberg insists that anyone taking exception to her anti-2nd amendment spews are themselves just looking for trouble.
