At Washington Irving High, NY failing kids get credits toward graduation. The school's fail is passing policy is actually written down.Failing scores of 50-55 get bumped to 65-70 and a failing grade of 60-64 is 'changed automatically' to a passing 65.
Truants are also given the get out of jail free cards.
Students doing real work and getting real grades are apparently the chumps in this system. It's the failing kids, however, who are set on a path of humiliation once they reach the streets.
US Public schools are a national disgrace. Teacher's unions are the cause. Union teachers put their paychecks over the students...it's a crime of the soul. And an erosion of the future.
